Schoolboy Footballers
Coached by Spanish Stars

Towards the end of term, 12 boys aged between 10 and 14, took the long journey from Exeter to Andorra to take
part in the Nike Football Camp.

Over the week, the boys honed their skills with experienced Spanish coaches in the mornings and participated in
competitions in the afternoons. Mixing with Spanish, Russian, French, Ukrainian, Japanese and Asian children,
our boys acquitted themselves well on the pitch, made good friends off it and maybe improved their Spanish! It
was a pleasure to see the different nations interacting so well.

They also spent time at the local swimming pool (cooling down) and at an outdoor activity centre high up in the
mountains, which included go-karting, zip-wiring, archery and biking.

The ‘night fun games’ after dinner each night proved to be just as competitive as during the day, but with a more
lighthearted approach.

The boys all got autographs and photos taken with the legendary Carles Puyol (Ex Barcelona and Spain Captain),
Marc Bartra (Barcelona) and Mark Muniesa (Stoke City).

The final day saw two of our boys (Ethan Power and Joe Barker) competing in the Senior Competition Final and
Noah Lesh in the Junior Final. Ethan’s team beat Joe’s on penalties, while Noah’s team lost 1-0.

Many compliments were received regarding our boys’ behaviour and they all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
