“Oh Happy Day!”
Gospel Touch Choir visit Bramdean School

Bramdean School hosted a wonderful series of gospel music workshops performed by the Gospel Touch Choir
from London. The choir has performed with many famous music artists including Emile Sande, Chaka Khan,
Craig David, Dionne Warwick, George Michael, Mary J Blige, Natalie Cole, Paloma Faith and Sting.

During the workshops pupils in groups of 20 from the school, joined by other schools in and around Exeter,
learnt about gospel music, harmonies and rhythms. One pupil said “…this is great, I loved the gospel music and
singing with the choir who were really fun!”
Members of the choir joined the school’s concert and chapel choir for
their morning rehearsal and were very impressed with the quality of the signing and asked that they consider
recording with them.

The day concluded with a concert in the school chapel performed by the choir and children who had taken
part in the workshops.  A spokesman from the choir commented “… this is the strongest and most talented music
department we have worked with… the children sang with great enthusiasm, music is clearly very strong in the
school.”
The children have asked the school to invite the choir back for another workshop day in the autumn term.

If your son or daughter has a love of singing, Scholarships and Bursaries are available for boys and girls. Please
contact the school secretary for more information.
